TRAPPERS- Early in the 1800`s Lewis & Clark Expedition attracted swarms of trappers to the newly acquired land by the Lousiana Purchase.These mountain men were generally independent, adventurous and interested mainly in exploring and wandering rather than homesteading. By 1845 silk was started to replace fur in hats and this inevitable change in fashion caused the demand for furs to drop drastically.Therefore trappers were forced out of business.

FARO TABLE-The hot game of the Old West was called faro, or farobank. Gamblers loved it. The hands played fast. A lot of people could play at once, like modern-day craps and roulette. And a smart player could make a fortune “bucking the tiger” — an animal often associated with the game — as the house had only a razor-thin edge.

GARO CABIN- Restored as a wash house and contains the equipment used by a pioneer woman to maintain the familys wardrobe.

NARROW GAUGE TRAIN- A locomotive built in 1914 is a Porter Mogul 6 and is of the basic type used by the Denver South Park and Pasific Railroad.

MERRIAM DRUG STORE- Collection of drugs and remedies, reported to be one of the most complete collections of patent medicines in the US.

SODA FOUNTAIN (Patented 1898)-Originally located in the Hunter Palmer Drug Store in Cannon City, the soda fountation was equipped to dispense natural soda water, carbonated water, or plain water providing for a variety of tastes. Later it was sent to South Park City to become a part of Merriam Drug Store exhibit in South Park.

MELBOURNE BEACH-FLORIDA Melbourne Beach is a town in Brevard County, Florida. The population was 3,101 at the 2010 United States Census. It has been suggested that Juan Ponce de León landed near Melbourne Beach in 1513, where he then became the first European to set foot in Florida.

In 1921, the Melbourne Causeway was built, connecting Melbourne Beach to the mainland via the town of Indialantic. In 1923 it was incorporated as a town.

South Pass (elevation 7,412 feet (2,259 m) is the collective term for two mountain passes on the Continental Divide, in the Rocky Mountains in southwestern Wyoming.The 1812 discovery of the pass, by European Americans, as a natural crossing point of the Rockies was a significant but surprisingly difficult achievement in the westward expansion of the United States. Between 1848 and 1868, South Pass was the preferred crossing point for emigrants westward, most of whom followed the Sweetwater River across Wyoming to its headwaters, following the Central Route. Before the railroads offered an easier crossing in 1869, perhaps half a million emigrants would trek through South Pass.

SOUTH PASS CITY-sprang into existence as a stage and telegraph station on the Oregon Trail during the 1850s.In 1866, gold was discovered in the vicinity, and a year later prospecting began on what would become the Carissa mine. Prospectors and adventurers quickly arrived and founded South Pass City. Within a year, the community's population had swelled to about 2,000. One of those who arrived in 1869, was Esther Hobart Morris. In 1870 she became the first woman in the United States to serve as a Justice of the Peace.

HISTORIC HOTEL ROOM (South Pass City)- By the end of the 20th century, steps were being taken to renew the community, and to turn it into an historic site. As a result, the community today consists of two areas: South Pass City, in which a handful of residents live, and South Pass City State Historic Site, which preserves more than 30 historic structures dating from the city's heyday in the 1860s and 1870s.

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK- Grand Teton National Park is a United States National Park in northwestern Wyoming. At approximately 310,000 acres (480 sq mi; 130,000 ha; 1,300 km2), the park includes the major peaks of the 40-mile-long (64 km) Teton Range as well as most of the northern sections of the valley known as Jackson Hole. Human history of the Grand Teton region dates back at least 11,000 years, when the first nomadic hunter-gatherer Paleo-Indians began migrating into the region during warmer months pursuing food and supplies. This natural lake was enlarged by the construction of the Jackson Lake Dam, which was originally built in 1911, enlarged in 1916 and rebuilt by 1989. The lake is the remnant of large glacial gouging from the neighboring Teton Range to the west and the Yellowstone Plateau to the north.

HENRYS FORK -is a tributary river of the SNAKE RIVER, approximately 127 miles (204 km) long,in southeastern Idaho in the United States. It is also referred to as the North Fork of the Snake River. MAMMOTH HOT SPRINGS-are a must-see feature of Yellowstone National Park in part because they’re so different from other thermal areas in the area. This is largely because limestone is a relatively soft type of rock, allowing the travertine formations to grow much faster than other sinter formations. It has been described as looking like a cave turned inside out.

OLD FAITHFUL GEYSER- was named by the first official expedition to Yellowstone, the Washburn Expedition of 1870. They were impressed by its size and frequency. Old Faithful erupts every 35 to 120 minutes for 1 1/2 to 5 minutes. Its maximum height ranges from 90 to 184 feet. It is not the biggest or the most regular geyser in Yellowstone but it is the biggest regular geyser.

Initial construction was carried out over the winter of 1903–1904, largely using locally obtained materials including lodgepole pine and rhyolite stone. BISON HERD- Yellowstone is the only place in the United States where bison have lived continuously since prehistoric times. Yellowstone bison are exceptional because they comprise the nation’s largest bison population on public land and are among the few bison herds that have not been hybridized through interbreeding with cattle. Unlike most other herds, this population has thousands of individuals that are allowed to roam relatively freely over the expansive landscape of Yellowstone National Park and some nearby areas of Montana.

ELKS CROSSING THE RIVER- Yellowstone provides summer range for an estimated 10,000–20,000 elk (Cervus elaphus) from 6–7 herds, most of which winter at lower elevations outside the park. These herds provide visitor enjoyment as well as revenue to local economies through hunting outside the park. As Yellowstone’s most abundant ungulate, elk comprise approximately 90% of winter wolf kills and are an important food for bears, mountain lions, and at least 12 scavenger species, including bald eagles and coyotes.

GRAND CANYON OF THE YELLOW STONE-is the first large canyon on the Yellowstone River downstream from Yellowstone Falls in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming. The canyon is approximately 24 miles (39 km) long, between 800 and 1,200 ft (240 and 370 m) deep and from .25 to .75 mi (0.40 to 1.21 km) wide. Although trappers and prospectors who visited the Yellowstone region had knowledge of the canyon earlier, the first significant descriptions were publicized after the Cook–Folsom–Peterson Expedition of 1869 and the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition of 1870.

HANDCART PIONEER MONUMENT- The Handcart Pioneer monument is a tribute to the thousands of hardy Mormon pioneers who, because they could not afford the larger ox-drawn wagons, walked across the rugged plains in the 1850's, pulling and pushing all of their possessions in handmade, all-wood handcarts. Some 250 died on the journey, but nearly 3,000, mostly British converts, completed the 1,350-mile trek from Iowa City, Iowa, to Salt Lake Valley. Many latter-day saints today proudly recount the trials and the triumphs of their ancestors who were among the Mormon handcart pioneers.

ASPEN- Founded as a mining camp during the Colorado Silver Boom and later named "Aspen" because of the abundance of aspen trees in the area, the city boomed during the 1880s, its first decade of existence. That early era ended when the Panic of 1893 led to a collapse in the silver market. Amalfi is a town and comune in the province of Salerno, in the region of Campania, Italy, on the Gulf of Salerno. It lies at the mouth of a deep ravine, at the foot of Monte Cerreto (1,315 metres, 4,314 feet), surrounded by dramatic cliffs and coastal scenery. The town of Amalfi was the capital of the maritime republic known as the Duchy of Amalfi, an important trading power in the Mediterranean between 839 and around 1200.

At the top of a staircase, Saint Andrew's Cathedral (Duomo) overlooks the Piazza Duomo, the heart of Amalfi. The cathedral dates back to the 11th century; its interior is adorned in the late Baroque style with a nave and two aisles divided by 20 columns. The façade of the cathedral is Byzantine in style and is adorned with various paintings of saints, including a large fresco of Saint Andrew.

St Matthew's Cathedral-SALERNO- is the main church in the city of Salerno in southern Italy and a major tourist attraction. It is dedicated to Saint Matthew, whose tomb is inside the crypt. The crypt, believed to house the remains of Matthew the Apostle, is a groin vaulted hall with a basilica-like plan divided by columns. It was restored under design by Domenico Fontana and his son Giulio in 1606-1608, with marble decorations added in the 18th century.

Piazza Dante is a large public square in Naples, Italy, named after the poet Dante Alighieri. The square is dominated by a 19th-century statue of the poet Dante, sculpted by Tito Angelini. Originally, the square was called Largo del Mercatello (Market Square). In 1765, it was rechristened Foro Carolina, after the wife of the King of Naples. At that time, the square was modified by architect Luigi Vanvitelli.

Pastiera - is a type of Italian cake made with eggs, boiled wheat and ricotta cheese. It originates from the area of Naples. It is a typical cake during Easter time. The Pastiera is not only cooked but also sold and served in appropriate pans called "ruoti" because it is very fragile, so it would easily crumble up if removed from the "ruoto".

SIMPLON PASS-(2,005 m or 6,578 ft) is a high mountain pass between the Pennine Alps and the Lepontine Alps in Switzerland. There has been a locally used passage through the mountains here for several centuries, but the pass acquired international significance during the Napoleonic occupation. Between 1801 and 1805 the Simplon Road was constructed by the engineer Nicolas Céard at the direction of the emperor in order to transport artillery pieces through the pass between the Rhône valley and Italy.

The Kehlsteinhaus (known as the Eagle's Nest) is a Third Reich-era edifice erected atop the summit of the Kehlstein, a rocky outcrop that rises above the Obersalzberg near the town of Berchtesgaden. It was presented to Adolf Hitler on his 50th birthday as a retreat and place to entertain friends and visiting dignitaries. Today it is open seasonally as a restaurant, beer garden, and tourist site.

Annecy is an alpine town in southeastern France, where the River Thiou meets Lac d’Annecy. It’s known for its Vieille Ville (old town), with cobbled streets, winding canals and pastel-colored houses. Overlooking the city, the medieval Château d’Annecy, once home to the counts of Geneva, contains a museum with regional artifacts such as Alpine furniture and religious art, plus a natural history exhibit.
